CHACHERI
This is a kind of 'Jhol' 'broth', made with barnyard millet.
Ingredients :
- Jhangora (Barnyard millet) 1 cup - wash thoroughly and soak for 30 minutes.
- Chach (Butter milk) 2 cups + 3 cups water or liquefied yogurt (take 2cups yogurt and beat thoroughly , add 3 cups of water to it)
- Turmeric- 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt
- Green Chilli
Preparation
- Burn 2 tablespoon mustard oil in iron skillet (karahi),turn off gas and cool.
- Heat above oil normally, add green chilli to it and add the Jhangora minus the water.
- Add turmeric, salt, the Chach or yogurt and cook on slow fire till done.
- This can be eaten on its own like a khichdi or some people substitute it for rice and eat it with a spicy Arhar Dal.
