GARHWALI STYLE TUR DAL
Ingredients
- Tur Dal 1+ ½ cups(soak overnight or for couple of hours)
- Water 6 cups
- Ginger 1” thinly sliced
- Turmeric ½ teaspoon
- Ghee 1 Tablespoon
Preparations
- Put above ingredients in a pressure cooker and give 4-5 whistles to half cook the Dal.
- Grind together3 large cardamom, 6 cloves, 1 Red Chilli, 3 tomatoes, 1” ginger and 2” cinnamon stick.
- Open pressure cooker and add the above ingredients. Cook again for 3-4 whistles or till fully done. Mash some Dal with heavy ladle.
Tadka
Heat 2 tablespoons Ghee add whole red chilli, faran, heeng and season the Dal. Garnish with green coriander and serve with Basmati rice/ red hand pounded rice.
